Burden of Sin

Sin is the root of all the burdens in our lives.  It gets heavy as we add more and more weight onto our backs.  We do it ignorantly, absentmindedly, or maybe even willfully.  We may not even realize what we are doing until it is so heavy that each step feels impossible and it you can't breath with ease.
Disobedience is the backpack of the heavy burden of sin.  It holds all the weight and it can carry a lot.  There is always consequences for picking up this backpack of sin.  For the Jews, it led to their excile.  They refused to put down their backpack when Jeremiah warned them of what would happen.  You can't really feel sorry for them since they were warned and they ignored the warning.  It is like they stood there and put the chains around their own necks to be led away by Babylon. around 600 BC.
The punishment of sin varies from people.  It will depend on what will have impact at the time: death, famine, illness, loss of money, or other losses.  The Jews listened to liars (false prophets, diviners, dreamers, fortune-tellers, and conjurers) instead of God's prophets.
You have to face the reality you are not independent.  You are a servant for God or a servant for Satan.  There is no way around that truth.  If you chose to serve Satan then you are choosing to listen to lies that will be banish you from God for eternity.  He will enjoy destroying your life.  If you have fallen prey to Satan's lies, then drop your back pack and turn to God now.  He can restore what evil has ruined.
