Jesus' Work Continues

When Jesus died on the cross his redemptive work was completed, but the world did not end there.  The fact that world is still functional means that Jesus is still working.  Death could not contain Jesus.  He resurrected and with that a new work began: salvation and making people complete through himself.  His new work is still about having a relationship with us, but not based on works.  It is based on real and pure love.
Jesus is powerful.  He is the son of God.  His is holy.  Anyone who follows in his resurrection is made holy.  He purified sin for anyone willing to follow Him faithfully.  He ascended and was exalted to sit at God's right hand.  He uses his place to make a home for all his people in heaven.
Adam brought spiritual death into the world.  We all follow his leadership and sin too.  Jesus came to rectify what Adam did.  Follow Jesus and you will bring your spirit to life.  He is the first fruits and we are the ones that benefit.  He was always set apart because of who he is, but following him sets us apart too.  We are the harvest and will are the gardeners to plant more fruit.  Jesus brings that fruit to life.  When the time is right, Jesus will harvest all who followed him.  Everyone else will be removed and burn for eternity.
Jesus draws us closer to God.  He is the only reason we are able to have a real relationship with our creator all because he interceded for us.  We deserve what is going to happen to all unbelievers, but Jesus made the way where no one has to die the eternal death.  No one could hold Jesus' position.  It is exclusive to him.  He is the mediator between God and people.
Before Jesus ascended he promised to make a place for all who follow him.  He promised to return one day to bring us home.  He promised that we would spend eternity with him, God, and the Holy Spirit.
Everyone is going to be confronted with this reality.  Those who do not follow Jesus will realize their error.  It is better to realize you need Jesus now.  Allow the Holy Spirit to convict your heart to the truth.  Acknowledge that you are a sinner and that you need Jesus to remove all your sins.  Repent and seek forgiveness as you call upon him in faith.  He will respond and you will be set free immediately.  He is the rightful ruler of your life and eternal soul,  Embrace the truth that Jesus' love and grace is your salvation.

Jesus' Motive

Jesus came into this world as a human while fully God.  He did this because he loves us.  He takes all our problems and finds a solution.  His motive is love and obedience.  Through that, he teaches us how to follow him.
We are unrighteous, but Jesus makes us righteous.  We do not understand, so he gave us understanding.  We do not seek God, so he came to us.  We turn away from God, so Jesus came to get us.  We were useless and Jesus gave us quality.
We can't earn our way into Heaven, so Jesus created a way.  We were slaves to sin, so Jesus provided the way to be free.  We faced eternal death, so Jesus died on the cross and resurrected.  We were facing God's wrath, so Jesus gave us his blood to be redeemed.
God saved people because He loves us.  He would not have created us if He didn't want a relationship with us.  He loved us even when we were slaves to Satan.  He showed us great mercy by giving us Jesus, so that we can have hope.  God's love is so powerful that He sacrificed His son for unworthy people.  He provided us with salvation through faith.  Even if we suffer, we can rejoice.

Provisions of Jesus' Work

Jesus became human to connect with people and pay the price for all of our sins.  He paid a high price.  He voluntarily paid with his life.  He did it because it was a part of God's design and it was the only way to remove sin from people for all time.
Jesus' death turned unrighteousness into righteousness by opening the door to salvation.  It reconciles those who believe and follow to God.  Jesus rescued us from our present evil, so we can do the will of God.  He forgave our trespasses with his grace.  He made it where we no longer have to be slaves to sin.  His death and resurrection freed us.
Today we celebrate Jesus' sacrifice with the Lords Supper (or Communion).  It represents the core doctrine of Christianity.  He suffered to the point of death, so that we have the opportunity to live free and spend eternity with God.  Jesus is the only solution for mankind's problems.  That is why he is the only way to salvation.

Cost of Jesus' Work

It is an insult to Jesus and what he did on Earth to proclaim that he will tolerate sin.  He does not.  He loves people, but hates sin.  He does not hate the sinner, but he hates what we do.  Never down play your sin to make yourself feel better or say that Jesus understands.  He understands the temptation, but he has already provided a way to avoid the sin.  There are no excuses.
If you are a true Christians, then you are expected to conform to holiness even when faced with temptation.  To give into sin is to throw away all Jesus did.  To never turn to Jesus is to remain an enemy of God because you are subject to Satan.  You are helpless to save yourself.  Jesus is the only way.  To reject Jesus is to embrace eternal death.  You are condemned to eternal separation from God.
Jesus came into this world to be a humble servant of God who was obedient to the point of death.  He taught us how to be humble and obey God's will for our lives.  Jesus never complained about his placement.  He loved everyone while still calling sin what it is: sin.  What did he get in return?  He was despised, unvalued, hated, rejected, suffered, and turned away from.  Yet, he still loved us and pray for us.
All Jesus asked in return was for us to believe and follow him.  His blood was shed, so that we could find freedom from sin and Satan.  He was pure and innocent, but his blood was the only true sacrificial blood that can redeem all people.  Jesus took the punishment for all of our inequities.  God even turned his back on Jesus in the final hour of Jesus' life on the cross to replace Him having to turn his back on us for eternity.  Follow Jesus and you will never have to experience that.

Jesus' Work

Some people still do not understand why Jesus came into this world.  He was not a martyr.  He was not just a great teacher or role model.  He came to save the world.  He came to be the last sacrifice.  His death was a substitute for our eternal one, but the reason behind it was planned before he ever was born.
Jesus came into this world to bear the sins on his body while it hung on a cross.  His death had to horrendous because sin is horrendous.  He did it, so that we have the opportunity to become righteous.  We are all guilty of sin.  Jesus is the only one who can remove our sins forever.
We are all unrighteous.  We are misunderstand God.  We are all guilty of not seeking God.  We have all turned away from God.  We all live a less than worthy lifestyle to be a part of God's family.  No one does good on our own.  No one is perfect.  No one is better than anyone else.  We all need Jesus equally.
We are born into this world a slave to sin.  Jesus came to break those chains.  It resulted in his death, but he did not stay dead.  He rose again with our hope for eternal life.  Without Jesus we are children of fleshly thoughts and inclinations.  We live however our heart desires in our natural sin state.  When we accept salvation, we change when we encounter the truth.  It all is because of Jesus' work.

Christ the Savior

Jesus is the savior of the world.  He is the Lamb of God that became the final sacrifice to remove sin from all who believe and follow.  Jesus is the Bread of Life that feeds the faith.  Be is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  He is the only way to have a relationship with God.
Jesus is not just a historical figure.  He is the King over all kings.  He is the Lord over all authority.  He will return to reign the world once he removes all sin.  Jesus has dominion, glory, and God's kingdom.  He sits by God's side while he gives us time to decide how we want to spend eternity.  When the time is right, he will return with his angels and collect all that follow him faithfully.  We will be separated from the people of the world to be taken home.
Jesus died and resurrected.  He lived in the world unlike before his death.  He allowed himself to utilize more of his powers, but still stayed who he is.  After 40 days, he ascended to heaven with the promise that he would return in the same way he left.
When Jesus returns the second time, it will be with vengeance to destroy the world that has been cursed by sin.  All who followed Satan and his demons will go to face eternal torment.  However, those faithful to Jesus will experience his glory.  Jesus is the God, Savior, and Ruler.  His reign will never end.  He will never be destroyed.

Jesus is God

Jesus holds the title deity.  He is fully God and fully human.  He is unique, special, and powerful.  He is Immanuel, which means "God with us".  He is sovereign in God's glory.  He is Yahweh, which means "I Am".
God is the the one first in rank in the universe.  Jesus is the point of reference in history.  He is God's agent to get people to the goal: a relationship with God.  The Holy Spirit is the sustainer.  God is the head of the church, but Jesus unites the church.  Jesus is the first fruits for all who choose salvation.  He is what unites people with God.  He is the ruler and head of all authority.
God's full nature dwells in Jesus.  Jesus is the heir to God's throne.  God and Jesus are eternal, so the heir to the throne looks a little different than it does with people.  They work together as one all powerful God for all of the universe.  His resurrection is a blessing to all who believe.
Jesus is God's radiance that sustains God's Word and makes it real for people.  Jesus is God's Word in the flesh.  He fulfilled all the prophecies to fulfill God's Word.  We see God's glory in Jesus because he is the truth and the only way to salvation.  He is the only way to true freedom.
