Holy Spirit filled Mental Closet

When you become a real Christian, you receive the Holy Spirit to reside in you at that moment.  It is a gift that becomes a part of you for the rest of your human life.  At the same time, it also requires change.  You have to make room for the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit was given to you to be your helper in this world.  This means he is your advocate, defender, teacher, comforter, and counselor.  He is Jesus in your life today.  He speaks the truth into your soul.  The more time you spend in God's Word and prayer, the more clearly you will hear that truth.  He guides you in your perspective, values, morals, and overall aspects of dealing with everyday life.
When you pray for the truth, be prepared.  God gives you what you pray for.  The Holy Spirit will start cleaning out your mental closet.  He will ask you to get rid of things you may not feel ready to get rid of at this time.  However, it is time.  He will counsel you as you start learning and seeing things in new perspective.
The truth requires change.  Change is hard.  If you persevere and are committed, then you will become stronger.  You will find joy and become happier in life.  You will gain wisdom and objectivity.  Trust the Holy Spirit's counsel.  It is wisdom.  It will keep you safe.  It is ultimately good.
The Holy Spirit will challenge you to really listen, embrace the truth, admit where you are wrong, and change.  The truth is He will push you, but never leave your side and fight some battles for you so they never make it to your orbit of thinking.  You are not alone and he will not silence you when you need to speak.
If you trust God, then you will trust the Holy Spirit.  He has a soft voice that works in your thoughts and intuition.  Your gut feeling is Him.  If it is telling your something is wrong, but everything looks good, believe it is wrong for your.  Same goes if it looks wrong, but He says proceed, then proceed.  You do not have to feel uncertain.  You can walk in confidence.
If your vision is still a little unfocused, then that is okay.  Pray to God to make it more clear.  Ask Him to reveal the Holy Spirit's work in your life.  If you don't understand what God is doing in your and through you, then how are you going to be able to use it as a testimony to the world.  You are God's ambassador, so you need your message to be clear.
Before you act on what you think is true ask yourself: does it align with the Bible?  The Holy Spirit will never lead you away from the truths of the Bible.  This is how you can clean out your mental closet.  If it does not align with God's Word, then remove it, burn it, destroy it so it never can infect your mental closet again.

Speak Truth to Yourself

Did you know that it is okay to talk to yourself.  Sometime when you say things out loud you are able to understand, see more clearly, and figure out what your issues are.  Being human means you have issues.  Your issues do not look like mine or anyone else's.  They are yours to deal with God.  Other people can help in the journey, but you have to be honest about them and face them on your own (plus God).
Common issues are marriage, raising children, illness, financial, insecurities, fear, and negative emotions causing problems.  These are issues that have to be dealt with in your mental closet.  Some issues you have to learn how to endure.  If you don't learn out how to tune out the lies or endure the uncontrollable, then you will lack self-worth and suffer from issues like depression.
Your issues will be a constant source of stress until you deal with them.  Stress will amplify the issues causing personal problems.  This is why we need the truth.  God is the source of truth, so whatever comes from Him you can trust.  Speak the truth to yourself, so you can hear it over the lies.  When the truth smothers the lies, you start to heal.
Speaking truth to yourself is encouraging yourself, it counsels, and it frees the Holy Spirit to speak more clearly to your soul.  Wise words prompt wise action.  If you allow God to put strong Christians in your life, then you can save a lot of money on counseling.
You need a strong faith community to be a part of your life, but that means allowing them into your life.  You can't hold back and expect them to understand what is happening to you.  They can't speak truth that will touch your soul if you don't let them in.  Find a mentor to help guide you where things are harder.  Find a mentee to be able to share what you learn.
Speaking truth to yourself is about building your faith.  Faith is where you will find your healing.  Faith is acting on the truth that comes from God.  This helps you walk in wisdom and to find healing.  It all starts with believing the truth.  Then start making the changes in your life that the Holy Spirit leads you to change.  Lastly, share your life with other believers.  They need you as much as you need them.

Fill Your Mind with Wisdom

You can have wisdom that is given from God.  All you have to do is believe in Jesus, start walking with him, and ask for wisdom.  You will never fully understand the Bible without faith.  Hold respect for the one who gives you the wisdom you have.  It is a powerful gift that doesn't always make life easier.  Wisdom is never casual or without purpose.
Hold a healthy fear that is respectful for God.  Assess yourself to see how much you revere your creator and one day collector.  He knows everyday of your life.  He knows every aspect of your life.  How high do you elevate God in your life?  How casual are you with that relationship?  What aspects of your life do you consider worship?  What is sacred to you?  Does your lifestyle display reverence to God?  Does your character reflect God's character as a testimony?
To fear God is not to fear like humanity fears things.  It is to hold esteem for God's truth, the only real truth.  You put His truth over your feelings and worldly perspective.  You will never get the full picture since there are too many factors in life that you can't control, but God does.  To have fear turn to wisdom is to understand truth and follow even when you can't see where it will lead you.
It is wise to show God respect in the small things you do.  If any of your answers do not display wisdom, then repent and ask God for wisdom in those areas.  Invest time in reading your Bible and prayer.  God will reveal secret truths to you and your mental closet will be filled with wisdom.
You have to revere God to have true wisdom.  If you revere God, then seek counsel from other people that revere God too.  Wise counsel that is followed will lead to wisdom.  Invest some time in listening to other people so you can learn from their mistakes, experiences, and recognize other people's struggles.  You need them and they need you.  If you don't have a mentor, then pray for one.  Also pray on whom you can mentor?
To sum it up to have wisdom fill your mind is to request it from God, revere God, and receive wise counsel.  Be honest with yourself to where you are at.  How does it compare to where you want to be?  It is a journey.  You journey can start today.

Thinking Wisely

Wisdom that comes from God is pure, gives peace, gentle, sincere, reasonable, merciful, good, unwavering, and without hypocrisy.  If you fill your mental closet with these traits, then you will live a life full of wisdom empowered by the Holy Spirit.  You will not worry about self-worth, if you have been forgiven, or other lies from Satan.  You will know the truth and the truth will make you mentally and spiritually strong.
Satan's lies that get in your head feel real, but they are not.  Feelings are powerful, so it can really mess with your head.  You have to learn the truth, accept it, and start applying it to remove the lie and gain wisdom.  You are in control of your feelings and what you believe.  You are in control of what you tell your soul.  You will act according to what you tell yourself.
You will act according to the truth or react according to your emotions.  Your feelings are real, but they are not always accurate.  To allow your feelings to rule you makes you a slave to Satan's lies.  If you take control of your feelings to be under God's truth, then they will strengthen you your spirit.
God's wisdom protects you from deceit and enslavement to feelings.  Worldly wisdom will cause you to faulter and act foolishly.  The wisdom of the world is influenced by Satan.  It will encourage you to act against your best interest.  They will lead to guilt, sinful lifestyle, hypocrisy, family strife, and pushes you further from God.  Listening to Satan leads to heartbreak and regret.
It is Godly wisdom that will guard your mental closet by listening to God.  All you have to do is ask for it and He will give you His wisdom freely.  This wisdom will help you use your feelings to follow Jesus instead of the confusing path that leads to self-destruction.  God's wisdom is given in love that gives life vibrancy.  It will develop you into a peacemaker.

Roots to Thinking

The roots to how you think is revealed in how you live.  If your roots are in scripture then you will live a faithful, holy, and loving life.  If your roots are in your own perspective, then you live out bitterness and corruption.  Faulty thinking leads to negative behavior and habits.  This thinking leads to destructive emotions.
If you need life to change, then you have to do some work to make it change.  God to God to reveal the roots that need to be removed and destroyed.  Let go of defensiveness and hypersensitivity.  Not everything this about you.  Allow God to help you learn what to destroy, let go of, and what to change to help you grow healthy, life-giving roots.
Perfectionism roots need to be destroyed.  That thinking only leads to things never being enough.  It will only make you exhausted and unhappy.  It feeds into insecurity, anger, intolerance, and more negative feelings.
Your roots are a powerful source in running your life.  If you have negative roots, then sometimes repentance and confession is not enough. You sometimes have to starve it, dig deep to get every spec of the root, and burn it then and there so it can't return.  It takes work, disgust with the root, and determination to change.  You have to change your perspective and be determined to never allow it to control you again.
The roots that come from God do not produce bad qualities.  Pride, insecurity, and all other unhealthy aspects of you come from worldly roots.  If you want good self-esteem, then you have to stop focusing on you and focusing on what God says about you.  God's commands may sound hard at times, but if it is correcting your thinking then it is beneficial.
God fights for you.  Will you fight for you too?  You can walk in confidence and obedience as your roots of faith grow deep.  Confront lies with truth.  God's Word is your weapon.  All good aspects of who you are come from Jesus.  The Holy Spirit is trying to teach you this truth, so you can see yourself the way He sees you.

Faulty Thinking

Do you do things because you always did them?  If the answer is yes, then you need to take a good look into why.  There is nothing wrong with tradition, but it can be mechanical, unbiblical, or the wrong way of thinking about things.  You need to challenge your mind to figure out why you do the things you do, so that you can remove anything that is not from God.
Wrong thinking becomes faulty assumptions.  The wrong thinking warps our beliefs.  You have to make sure your thinking aligns with God's Word to get it right.  How you think becomes the basis of how you act and live out your life.  That is why faulty thinking is dangerous.
Self-worth can be one of the most common faulty thinking among people.  Your self-worth is not based on how you look, perform, wit, or other people's opinions.  Your self-worth is what God says it is: beloved, valued, special, wanted, chosen, and more.
How you start viewing the world as a child will normally carry over into adulthood and the rest of your life.  However, you do have the power to change faulty thinking.  Misguided thoughts, unrealistic expectations, and worldviews can be reshaped.
Also placing your thoughts and opinions onto other people is faulty thinking.  It will only cause discourse.  There needs to be a conversation and meet half way or work out the faulty assumptions.  Most people are not out to get you.  They are too busy with living their own life even if that life is with you.
Assumptions affect every aspect of your life: relationships, thoughts, actions, and attitudes.  Faulty thinking can cause you to blame God, blame other people, feel worthless, or ungracious.  You can see faulty thinking through actions like questioning God, idolatry, hopelessness, abandonment, and more.  Faulty thinking lead to presumptions that can become fixed if you are not seeking God's wisdom.
To ignore God's wisdom and guidance is to be arrogant, proud, and insolent.  It is willful sin.  These characteristics have to be crushed.  You can remove them yourself or God will because He fights for you.  Corrupt thinking or desires will lead to a sinful lifestyle.  That has to be repented before you can see clearly and embrace the truth.  God's way, view, and opinion are the truth that you need to fortify your mental closet.
You have free will.  You can live life your way, under your viewpoint, and opinion,  However life will never be as sweet and peaceful unless you conform your way into God's way.  You have a sinful nature, but you also have the Holy Spirit to help you from sinning.  Make the truth given to you by God the foundation to your mental closet.

Purified Mind

Every word that you store in your mental closet is used one way or another.  The narrative is lived out whether the information is true, fateful, hurtful, clean, true, or life-giving.  This is why you need to do a deep clean with God on what you are storing in your mental closet.  What can you ask God to remove from your thought process or forefront memory?
It takes work, a lot of work for some, to clean out their mental closet.  You have to decipher what is true and what is a lie.  The more lies you remove, the more the truth becomes apparent.  Is there room for Jesus in your mind?  Or have you crammed it so full of nothingness that you don't have any room for him?
Purifying your mental closet is removing one lie at a time.  Once you have space for the Holy Spirit to really get in there it starts happening very quickly.  Your mind becomes majestic, noble, and disciplined.  It hold value in the truth so you live a life of integrity.
Do not allow anything to pollute your mental closet or your self-esteem and self-worth is what will suffer.  Instead conform your mind to be pure.  Transform your thoughts to be able to forgive, love, be generous, honor and glorify God, and serve your purpose without confusion.  Infuse your mind with the truth to fortify it.
It is not abut all the good things you can do.  It is about having a real relationship with your creator.  The Holy Spirit helps make that easier.  A purified mind makes it clear.  Pollution in your mind only causes confusion and indicates that you need healing from the root that causes you to sin.  A polluted mind will live a hypocritic lifestyle that can't serve God the way it was meant.
Where do you struggle?  What do you need to face to clean out your mental closet?  What is keeping you from living a life of integrity?  God is the only one who can purify you.  It starts with faith, but continues in your mind.
The Holy Spirit speaks through your conscience.  If your mental closet is so polluted, then you will not be able to hear clearly.  He will not yell at you.  It also leaves you vulnerable to Satan to sneak in and distort the truth.  Do not live a double minded life.  It is exhausting and will tear you up inside.  Have what is going on inside of you match what you portray to the world.  Don't give Satan the power to unravel you.  Authentic freedom comes from accepting the truth and trying to live it.
