It is so easy to find insignificant comfort in things like having money in the bank account or your wallet. We live in a world that says that you have to have material things to have worth. If you don't have money, then there is stress about if you will be able to eat, have shelter (a home), or just get through a day sometimes. God is asking us to take our eyes off the problem or the perceived solution and to focus on Him. He has this.
When we put our trust in anything other than God, it makes it difficult to hear His voice. Money just tends to be the number one thing that we go to for security. How can we trust Him or obey if we are ignoring His voice? How can we find comfort in Him if we are ignoring Him? We have to practice self-discipline. Your relationship grows one day at a time. It's not just going to happen.
God doesn't care about your social status. He doesn't care about how much money you have or lack there of. He cares about you and your eternity. Don't become so busy trying to secure your future here, that you over look where true trust lies. Talk your anxieties out with Him. He will place wisdom into your heart. He will secure your eternal future. You can't buy that.
When you choose to listen to God, then you are choosing wisdom. This wisdom leads to understanding. Things in life changes. You body changes. Your priorities change. That is life, but with life comes new issues, concerns, and anxieties. That is why we never need to neglect our relationship with Him. Treasure the time you have and let go of what you can't control or change.
