Jesus is the son of God. He is God. He serves the will of God. It all sounds contradictory, but it isn't. It wall works together and ties things up in a nice neat and beautifully perfect bow. If life was done there way, then we would have all experienced perfection. We would never have had to ask or answer hard questions. Life would have been simple and content for every living soul.
Jesus does not serve man, but he came down to earth to live a human life for our benefit. He wanted to show us how things could be different. He showed us what we should get angry about and how to deal with that anger in a holy manner. He showed us how to live passionately without sinning. He showed us how to rest. More than all of that He became the heavenly priesthood on earth, so that we could see that salvation was obtainable by all.
Jesus left again, but not alone. He left us with the Holy Spirit that mediates on our behalf along with Jesus, so that we can have that better promise. The original covenant was to earn your way into Heaven. It is impossible to be perfect without Jesus, so he gave us a superior covenant. It is built off of Adams, Abraham, and Moses' covenants, but modified to show clarity.
The superior covenant is based on faith, not works. However, if you have faith that continues to get stronger, then your actions will reflect it. It is easy for an outsider looking in to get confused, but that is why we have to tell them that they can have this too. Jesus has everything to offer and does not take away anything you don't need. If things are taken, then that comes from the evil in the world,
The Holy Spirit makes the law understandable and doable. The more you read your Bible prayerfully, the more it makes sense and the more it will change your heart. The point is to know God. Not to know about God, but through faith have an actual relationship. Common sense says that is impossible, but it isn't. It is obtainable. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is superior to anything the world gives you. It is our responsibility to teach the world.
God loved us even when we lived in our wicked ways. He loves us no matter what. He loves us enough to forgive and actually forget our sins. That is made real through the covenant of faith and salvation. It is not about knowledge, but believing the impossible. It is about walking into the unknown and unpredictable to be faithful to God. You old life is obsolete. It is time to embrace the better and more vibrant life with Jesus.
