What Happens to the Persecutors?

Sometimes it feels like the people to who do bad things always get away with them.  It appears like they have an easier life.  They earn all their nice things from deception, manipulation, and fear induced power.  However, we never know the whole story.   People who do evil will have to pay the price one day.  It may not be today or tomorrow, but it is coming.
If that perspective doesn't help, then let me point out that we have all done bad things.  No one is perfect.  We all judge, hurt feelings, and care about our needs above others at some point.  We need to focus on our own shortcomings before obsessing on other people's faults.
Both King Herods are great examples tyrants that persecuted their people.  We are looking at the second King Herod.  He did not deal well with the problems of his people.  He did not care about their religion.  All he cared about was his life and what he had.  He wanted to keep power, but did not consider the cost.  His cost was an angel putting worms in him to be eaten from the inside out.  (Acts 12:19-25)

20 "Herod had been very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon. Together they presented themselves before him. After winning over Blastus, who was in charge of the king’s bedroom, they asked for peace, because their country was supplied with food from the king’s country. 21 On an appointed day, dressed in royal robes and seated on the throne, Herod delivered a speech to them. 22 The assembled people began to shout, “It’s the voice of a god and not of a man!” 23 At once an angel of the Lord struck him because he did not give the glory to God, and he was eaten by worms and died."  Acts 12:20-23 (CSB)
