Righteousness is a gift from God to enable His people to give testimony. He used prophets and the law to teach us how to live, so that out testimony holds power. It begins with our faith in Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate equalizer when it comes to atonement. He does not hold any one person above another. Jesus is just, so faith in Him justifies you. This justice builds on your faith developing into righteousness. In faith, there is no room to boast.
Faith is different from the law. The strong your faith becomes the more you distance yourself from the chains of the law. The law does not disappear, but the burden to uphold it does. The Law is meant to establish healthy boundaries, so that you can learn about God. It is all about the work you put into finding Him. Faith is stepping past knowledge into a healthy relationship. The boundaries are there, but they don't seem like work anymore. It becomes more natural. It give your the understanding that all righteousness that you have comes through Jesus.
