Warning

Jesus warns us to watch out for those whom desire to deceive us.  There are many false prophets and people claiming to be Messiah.  There are many wars, famine, and earthquakes.  They all foreshadow the beginning of the end of time, but just because they happen does not mean that the world is ending now.
I believe that God is keeping that away for a time to give us a chance to get the gospel out to every living person.  As the persecution for doing this intensifies, that is when we need to pay closer attention.  However, who is to say what is worse.  We live, but only a moment in the grand scheme of things, so personally it is best to always be alert.  The Holy Spirit is with you to give you comfort in any and all persecution you may experience.
There will be a time when families betray one another because some will hate others for loving Jesus.  This is hard to believe, but this is when we need to stand firm in our faith.  Betrayal is never easy, but it does reveal who is true in your life.  Flee desolation that is caused by abomination to find hope.
Stand firm in your faith and when everything falls apart, Jesus will be there for you.  One day He will return in His full power and glory.  On that day, His angels will collect His people (the elect).  Everything we know will be gone, but God's Word.  No one knows when this will happen, but God Himself.  We have been warned to watch out for the signs and be alert.  Always be anticipating His return.

Mark 13
