Confrontation is a part of life that forces a person to grow by learning things about themselves. You learn pressure points, anger dynamics, and other personality quirks. Confrontation is when you face a challenge. You may be that challenge for another or you may be the one experiencing the pressure.
Elihu was confronting Job, but at the same time his three friends. He spoke passionately about what he believed as he acted as the advocate for God. He stuck with the courtroom setting that the book has upheld.
Elihu believed that God rewarded the righteous and punished sin, aka sinners. He pointed out that God speaks through affliction. He allows us to go through painful experiences sometimes to soften a hard heart. Only when a person is humble can they hear God's voice in their heart.
Elihu moves on to point out that it takes time and discipline to be able to keep a humble heart and attentively listen for God in all situations. He pointed out that God is beyond our full comprehension. He is too big for us to fully grasp. The good news is that God wants us to know Him. He is always trying to give us opportunities to know Him.
Elihu did not realize how much spiritual wisdom he was sharing. God knows each one of us because He created us. He knows what you need to be able to speak to your heart. It is also situational. We are different according to the situation, hormones, and personality. God is steadfast.
