Have you ever wished that you could have a conversation with God, like you do with people? I have been confused by the Bible, the stuff that I did not understand. I have questioned my purpose and had more doubts than I would ever admit to. Like Job, I have wanted answers and now. Instead, God chose to teach me excruciating patience and how to deal with the disappoints of life.
God speaks to people primarily through the Bible. He is not stuck in a box though, so He speaks to people through dreams, the Holy Spirit using your conscience, nature, and circumstances. His way of communication may not always be clear to us because we are not paying attention or we have not learned His language yet.
God had been listening to the five men the entire time. He had been silent. It was important for them to work our their faith. We all have to work out our faith and it is not usually done in the comfortable times. There are times in life where we feel God's silence. He have to believe that it is for our own good or that we really do have something to repent.
God was now ready to speak. He spoke to Job in a storm. God questions Job about who he is and what he had done in his life compared to God. God ask him if he knew all the mysteries of the world. God approached Job this way not to scare him really, but to get his attention. Job had not sinned, but he had gotten lost in his misery. God was snapping him out of it. God was giving Job the opportunity to see His glory and provide wisdom and understanding.
Job 38
