Esh Oklah

Esh Oklah (esh oh-ki-ah) is אֵשׁ אֹכְלָה in Hebrew.  It means "Consuming Fire" or :Devouring Fire"  It describes God's intensity, zeal, holiness, and righteous anger.  The name is often linked to El Kannah which means "Jealous God"  Together they signify how God destroys all unrighteousness.
Esh Oklah is God's intense presence.  His power is overwhelming to the point that His presence can destroy people and places.  He displays His honor in how He is devoted to His people.  He will not tolerate unfaithfulness and will destroy it.  You can trust God to take care of revenge.  He will vindicate His people that were hurt, persecuted, or killed in faith.  Do not turn your back on God and you will always have His power taking care of you.
The world is not kind to people that are devoted to God.  Following Jesus separates you which makes you stand out.  This will make it where people of the world may hate you, but Jesus warned you that it would happen.  It doesn't make it easier, but it does make it where you can mentally prepare and push through.  The eternal reward is worth what you go through now.  It helps you love people that hate you and may even persecute you.
When you pray using the name Esh Oklah you are seeking purification.  You accept that you sometimes have to go through fire to become holy.  If you seek to be more like Jesus, then you have to endure the process of purification.  You embrace the discomfort because you know it is for your benefit and will bring you closer to Him.
When you pray Esh Oklah you are seeking God's power to work in your life.  Pray that God touches the lives of the people that hurt you, so they can change and be truly forgiven.  Forgive them, so God will forgive you of your sins.  You are seeking for mercy and righteousness to prevail over hurt.

Exodus 24:15-19, 34:12-14, Deuteronomy 4:21-24, Proverbs 25:21-22, Hebrew 12:28-29, & Revelations 15:8-9

  1. Although not part of the scripture reference fot this post…. This also points to the persecution that Peter and John faced. They had to make a choice… follow “man” or “follow Jesus knowing that following man might “protect them” for a while. They chose to flow Jesus … no matter the earthly cost.
We too may face persecution but following Jesus is the only way to our Heavenly reward.
