El Kanna

El Kanna (el kawn-uh) or El Qanna is אֵ֥ל קַנָּ֖א in Hebrew.  It means "Jealous God" or "Zealous God".  A lot of people get caught up on the jealous part and reject what God is offering.  His jealousy is not like human jealousy rooted in selfishness, envy, or insecurity.  His jealousy is based on pure love and wanting what is best for your relationship with Him.  He is protective and devoted to the relationship He has with you.
El Kanna describes God's intense, protective, and loving aspects of who He is.  He gave you life and all the good things in it.  All He ask for in return is your devotion to Him over any other relationship or god.  Worship of false gods is prohibited.  It is a meaningless distraction that only takes from your life instead of giving you life.  He is passionate in having a pure love with you.  You see this in the 10 Commandments.
When you pray using the name El Kanna you are accepting His love.  You are seeking to understand it and why He is jealous for your love.  You seek to love like Him which is not controlling, but encouraging, life giving, and fulfilling.  You pray using El Kanna to ask for God to reveal your idols with the intent to remove them from your heart or life or if it is a relationship to put it in it's proper place so you don't lose it.  You ask for clarity and help removing distractions from your focus being on your relationship with Him.

Exodus 20:1-5, 34:12-14, Deuteronomy 4:21-24, 5:8-10, 6:14-19, Joshua 24:19-20, & Luke 10:25-29
