God's refuge is a fortress of protection, comfort, and love. It can be were the soul resides. It should be where we go when we need solitude, peace, or stillness. It is amazing how you can have all of that, but know that you are not alone.
When you are in trouble, God is always there with you. He is there even when you got yourself into the situation by not listening. He can remove your fear while giving you strength to endure any obstacle that you are facing. You just have to submit your fear. Fear is a natural reaction to scary events or a strong imagination. It is not so natural to consider it something that you can just walk away from. It takes intentional effort and prayer.
When you need refuge you have to face the fact that you have to surrender your self-imposed control over your life. That can be scary for some people. Some people grip so hard onto control because they had no control while growing up. It can take them to a dark place. If that is the case for you, then pray through it. It will not be a one time choice. It will take several intentional steps and God is walking through that journey with you. He understands.
When you choose to go to God to be your refuge you are choosing a fortress. He is not just strong protection. He is a place where you can thrive and be comfortable. He is where you can be your true and pure self. There is no reason to hide or lie. It is where you can really hear His voice and know His voice over any other noise around you. His voice will guide you through your journey to safety.
