We grow up hearing that we need to turn the other cheek when people try to hurt us. We learn that we need to be better than the people that make our lives painful or difficult. We are not really taught about what to do with our anger. When we are in the midst of the pain how do we handle the situation? It is not easy to navigate with a rational mindset.
God understands this better than any other person. Anyone who chooses not to believe and follow God is the enemy of God. He has more enemies than he has allies. He understands frustration and the pain of watching wrong appear to succeed. Unlike people, God will not be quieted. The more people try to push Him out of the world, the more He will shine. He is the one we need to go to learn how to handle anger, disappointment, and pain well. Talk to God about what you need and your anger.
Our foes may be cunning, back-stabbing, and manipulative as they conspire against you. You may not even understand why they are coming against you in the first place. It is simply because you are a follower of God and that makes them angry or uncomfortable. You may never have done anything to them. They just want to destroy you because of the hate that they have in their heart.
Hate can really be scary. That is why we have to rely on God to protect us. He is stronger than hate. He becomes your refuge to learn how to handle the situation step by step, event by event. There is no shame in needing Him. The reality is that He will bring shame to those that become your enemy out of hate. All we can do is pray for protection, vindication, and for an end.
