Anyone can make promises. They are just words unless there is action to back it up. Good intentions only get you so far. People need to see that you will uphold your word. It is impossible to keep every promise because we don't know all the factors. God knows what has happened, is happening, and will happen. When He makes a promise, you know that it will happen. He is the God of action, not just words.
Our mouth should display our love for God, but we are human. We can only strive to love the way He loves. We have to forgive ourselves when we fall short and ask anyone that was involved in our failure to forgive us. God's love is more than a promise. It is a covenant (obliging and binding). He showed us how serious He was about that covenant by sacrificing the perfect life of Jesus to send Him to us. He did that so we could really learn what love is.
God never fails or oppresses. His power sounds too good to be true. That is why so many people think He is myth, child story, or that believers are delusional. They just don't get it. It can be simple and good.
God is strength and He promises to give us strength as we fight our battles in life. He is a warrior that fights for you everyday. He gives us what we need to be able to sustain and stand firm in His name. In return He expects us to proudly declare His name, learn how to love, and be faithful to Him. Life is short. How do you want to be remembered?
