We all have work to do in this world. As a child it is education and learning boundaries of society. As young adults it is continued education, growing relationship with God, and a career. As you get older things change, but your are required to work in some compacity for life. Even when you retire from work, you don't retire from being a Christian. You can take delight in learning from Him.
God has His work too. He is the creator. He brings life. The Holy Spirit councils the heart and soul. Jesus' job was His life on earth and what comes next. When you ponder over what they accomplish and do on a daily basis, you can take delight in the small things. You can see how glorious this world is. You can see the rewards for living an upright life. He is worthy of being praised in your public and private life.
God is eternal. He is gracious and compassionate. He never abandons you for not being good enough. He don't stop loving you. His work is faithful and just. You can trust that He will do what He promises. He pours His righteousness into you. To fear Him is the beginning of wisdom and to obey Him is leads to understanding. You have eternity to figure out everything else.
