Qoph is the 19th letter in the Hebrew Alphabet. It looks like a sewing needle, the eye of the needle. It refers to the back of the neck, the nape. It means sun, revolution, circle, and horizon. It holds a large scope for introspection and reflection. The Phoenician and Aramaic is Qop, Syriac Qōp̄, and Arabic Qāf ق. It evolved to Latin letter Q and Greek Ϙ (qoppa) and Φ (phi). In modern Hebrew it is kuf.
The heart calls out to God. It is something more than what the eye can see. It is a mental yearning for more. We tend to substitute that yearning with things instead of waiting for God to give us what we really want and need. He just ask for obedience in return. The kind of obedience that is singularly focused.
To get what we yearn for it requires obedience and self-control. His ways will not always line up to your ways, so you have a choice to make: obey or rebel. The best choice is to put all your hope in Him and obey even when you don't understand. It is living out faithful love.
God is speaking. He speaks through love and justice, but are you hearing Him? His voice can preserve your life. It will guide you to a life of peace and joy. It may not look traditional. It may leave people questioning your life, but it doesn't matter if your soul is fulfilled. He will whisper the truth of love into your soul and His truth is ever lasting.
Psalms 119: 145-152
