There is wisdom in making plans, but more so in how you make the plans. The philosophy behind wisdom is what matters. Planning puts a spot light on what matters to you. Solomon uses 34 proverbs in this chapter to help you decide what matters to you in life.
Wicked people envy and desire for what other people have. Their hearts are full of sin and words speak trouble. Their plans are for their own satisfaction. A wise person establishes their plans through understanding that comes from the knowledge that they have. It is better to be wise with your plans than strong to fight the battles in life.
Wisdom guides you in your endeavors and your fight against evil forces. Wisdom is impossible for a fool because he is a schemer instead of a planner. Patience with a gentle tongue can get through the toughest person. It take wisdom not to insert yourself where you are not wanted. Just because you have the answers doesn't mean that you need to instruct, inform, or correct at times. A wise person may fall, but they will get back up. A fool falls into ruin because he will not take guidance.
Sin is a murderous weapon. Evil's goal is to kill the soul. It does it by killing your testimony and walk with God. It starts with unfaithful behavior and leads you into trouble. The only way to fight is to be good to those who wish you evil. It pleases God for you to do what is right when you are not being rewarded for it. A wise person doesn't show partiality, but will obey justice in all circumstances.
Avoid quarrelsome people, so that you can maintain peace in your heart. Angry people pollute your mind and walk with God. They display a lack of self-control. Don't listen to a liar. Don't befriend a slacker. They will rob you of the gifts of God. What may not be obvious is that it takes some planning to succeed and avoid destructive behavior.
