Isaiah had a vision that was not something he would have chosen to see, but God planted it into his mind so that he would have time to warn the Jewish people. God was going to have His day of reconning. The people were going to be held accountable for how they chose to live. The thing is that it still applies. It feeds into Revelations, so it is still note worthy for all people.
Isaiah saw the end of Judah and Jerusalem. The day of judgment was approaching. God's home was established on earth. Many sought to His ways, so that they would know how to walk in His path. He is the ultimate judge. His desire is for everyone to chose to walk in the light instead of accepting the lies of the dark. However people started mixing Him with mythology, so He needed to remove Himself to set a clear boundary between superstition and Himself.
On the day of God's choosing he chose to humble the people who abandoned Him. He chose to open their eyes to all that they had. The prideful were brought low. We all have these pivotal moments in life where we realize where we stand in the world. In that moment you can realize you need Him or you can try to run. You realize that all your success comes from Him and what He has given you or you stubbornly decide that it is all due to your deeds and risk losing more than what you realize you have.
We have all tried to flee God at some point. It may be trying to avoid facing sin as sin or the consequences of your sin. Maybe you just want to be your own god and not answer to anyone or anything. No matter the reason, it will not work forever. Eventually you will face Him and whatever consequences that you may have to accept. It is never easy, but once you do the heavy burden is lifted,
Do not trust the judgment of other people over what God's Word says. He is the only way to truth and freedom. He is the only way to redemption. He is whom you need to put your confidence.
Isaiah 2
