Today we are discussing the sixth and final woe in the Isaiah's woe series. This is all about God being the destroyer and rising up in a way that everyone will acknowledge Him. He will destroy everything that is bad or evil in the world. It will be terrifying, but it will be a good thing.
The woe is t destruction and betrayal. You will recall in the gospel that Jesus was betrayed, but that betrayal brought salvation for all people. That doesn't mean that the traitors will not be punished. They will be betrayed and destroyed in return. The bad times will not last forever. God will honor the covenant of salvation.
When God destroys, people fee and nations scatter. The people that think they are willing or are powerful will discover that they have nothing. The righteous will find justice and security through salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. These are treasures. The messengers of peace weep as they travel because the people will not listen. That means that they see mourning and withered lives. They are seeing death instead of victory.
God rises up exalted. Eventually everyone will know the truth. Unfortunately everyone who ignored Him for centuries will be in all consuming fire that never dies. We will all know His strength one way or another. The ungodly will be afraid. The people that refuse to turn from God will be sustained by God. Don't ever fall for extortion, bribery, or murder or it will consume you.
It is hard to comprehend eternity, but we will spend it in peace or anguish. There are no other options. Plot for evil and you will experience the worst. Trust God faithfully and you will find something better than you can imagine. You may not believe. You may not comprehend. You may not understand, but that doesn't make it any less true.
God is the judge. Not me, not you, nor anyone else. He is the lawgiver. He is the real king of all humanity. He is the savior. His reign is stable and secure. The enemy may try to capture His people, but salvation is their protection from eternal pain, suffering, or anguish. God's judgment covers all of the earth in all of time.
