After Judgment

Judgment is hard to face.  Once you face judgment the waiting is over and change goes into affect.  You can breath again.  But, what happens after the judgment is enforced?  How much does it change your life?  Is it short term or eternal?  Will you learn or stay the same?
Jeremiah warned Jerusalem for over 20 years that if they didn't listen and obey God that the nation would face judgment.  They ignored and persecuted him for his obedience.  When God acted on His warnings. it seemed so sudden.  Jeremiah did not expect to get out of the judgment of the nation, but God rewarded Jeremiah for all he endured by giving him freedom while most of the nation was exiled from the promised land.
Jeremiah was taken away, but was released in Ramah, now Er-Ram.  He was allowed to return home.  Jeremiah went to Gedaliah with a message from Nubuzaradan, guard captain.  He stayed with Gedaliah for a while in Mizpah, possibly Tell En-Nesbeh.
Gedaliah became the governor over Jerusalem.  He helped the people resettle into their new reality.  He worked hard to keep the peace and make the transition as easy as he could.  He became the mediator between the people and Babylonians.  He was good enough not to be influenced by or even listen to rumors.
