Part of knowing God is understanding that He does get angry. His anger is Holy anger versus our anger which normally indicates a boundary had been crossed. God's boundaries are clear. People can cross our boundaries without knowing it, so our anger can be rash or mystifying.
God is the designer of boundaries. When we cross it and keep crossing His boundaries, is when He gets angry. When He gets angry, we should be terrified. He has the power to do anything He wants. The good news is that it takes a lot to get Him angry and He set up parameters for Himself which He will keep.
Things in life loses it's luster over time. Things lose their value. People that seem to have everything can lose everything. Sin tarnishes everything it touches. Living your life however you want without any boundaries leads to a meaningless life that leads to an eternal death. That is not God's anger. That is fact.
If you lead a life that leads people away from God, then He gets angry. Their deaths are on you. You can try to flee. (I would flee in terror.) However, there is no where you can go that He doesn't know where you are at any given time. You will have to face God when you draw your last breath. Even "Christian" Leaders that lead people astray will be cast out.
God's anointed will be able to rejoice at death's doors. Their judgment will end. The lost on the other had will never find peace. All sin will be exposed and dealt with accordingly. No one gets a free pass.
The question you need to ask yourself is why do you think God should never get angry or pass judgment? It would be like saying you never have the right to get angry. That you should let people do whatever they feel like to you. A world without boundaries, rules, or enforcement is chaos. It would be a world where death would be better than living. God is the best ruler, so He can't allow that to happen.
