Adulterous Nation

God considers unfaithfulness the same as He considers adultery.  You are basically cheating on God.  God was tired of seeing it happen, so He sent Ezekiel to confront the Israel Nation of their evil ways.  He did not have pity or compassion for them.  God hated what they were doing.  They were God's people and God was supposed to be their only god.  God looks at the entire history before passing judgment.
God had taken care of this nation above all other nations.  He took them when they were weak and feeble like an unwanted newborn and made them strong, beautiful, and regal.  He gave them all the good things that they had in life as he made a covenant with them.
Israel became self-reliant as they forgot all that God had done for them and their pride grew.  They took advantage of all He had done and who He was an.  In the process they made a mess of their lives.  They worshipped idols and prostitution worship to other gods.  They sacrificed their children.  They degraded the beauty that God gave to them.  God tried to remove their greed because they were weak-willed because they had become worse than Sodom in corruption.
By nature people are adulterous as their inherited sin grew.  We get distracted easily.  We misunderstand God, so we blame Him for all that goes wrong in our lives.  We live in an evil world and blame Him when it is the decisions of evil people that cause the outpour of horrible things in the world.   There is so much evil in the world that a person doesn't have to be involved to still have something happen.
God's goal was to gather the distractions and get people to the point where we hate them.  When we do not, then God does punish our adulterous ways.  It leads to loss.  He will continue to take away what you value over your relationship with Him until people turn to Him, face Him.  This can give you clarity.  However if you don't, if you continue to walk in detestable ways, then don't act like you are righteous.
Your disgrace is justified.  However, God is good.  He will restore misfortunes when the people return to Him.  We all have to face our sin and punishment accordingly.  If you repent and ask for forgiveness, then it is given.  Your sin will be removed and forgotten, but you have to ask and change.  Changing is the hard part, but it leads to atonement instead of humiliation.  One sin is an act of adultery toward God.  Can you count the number of times you have sinned?  Are you ashamed of your personal sin?
