Faithfulness is the quality of being faithful. It is fidelity. It is unfailing loyalty to someone or God. It is a consistent practice of faith regardless of the situation. It implies trust and worth. It is keeping your word.
When faithfulness is applied to God, it is gratitude to Him always keeping His Word. It is eternal and just. It upholds forgiveness. It is never failing because God is unchanging. Faithfulness is a part of who He is and we need to make it a part of who we are. The Holy Spirit gives us the ability to be faithful after salvation.
Faithfulness is a consistent display of God's nature. We are incapable of being truly faithful without the help of the Holy Spirit. It is important that we learn how to be faithful because it makes life fuller and more meaningful. It is grievous to be unfaithful. It destroys inner quality of the person you can be.
The Holy Spirit enables us to be faithful because of the promises of God. He acts on our behalf to bring us closer to God. Your words need to be backed up by your actions. The convenience of things is not a factor in faithfulness.
When we become Christians we are entering a covenant with God to be faithful. It is stronger than a contract. It is a blood oath where Jesus forgave our sins and we vow to follow Jesus no matter what. God is trustworthy. Are you trustworthy? Do you live in confidence in your faith in God?
