The Atmosphere was created on the second day of the world's existence. The Atmosphere is the canopy of a mixture of moisture and oxygen that makes the air breathable. It was staple in the beginning which means that it never rained until the days of the flood. It was the perfect humidity, temperature, and climate.
If sin entering the world affected the world, then that means that it did not just affect the ground. It also affected the atmosphere. In Noah's day, it brought the flood. Today we have poor quality air and acid rain. The more we hurt our world, the more we have to expect it to give us pollution.
God created His world perfect including the atmosphere. It did not have deserts or swamps in the beginning, but even if it did it would have been perfect. It was ageless. The world was meant to grow and populate, but be eternal. It easily sustained life. It took a violent event to change the world. First the expelling of Adam and Even from the Garden, then the flood, then war, and so on. The more we allow sin to pollute our planet the more it changes it from it's perfect design.
Water was separated on the second day. It still covered the planet, but it became drastically less in the air, so it became the sky and water, above and below. It displays how God can do whatever He wants, His power, His purpose for life. He was very detailed and structured in how He created the world. Water is affected by the rain, wind, rapids, tides, and evaporation (vapor).
Water empowers life through the enforcement of God. That is why water is a part of salvation. It washes you clean from all your past sins in the baptismal waters. It is not literal, but in a sense it can be. It empowers you through obedience to follow Jesus.
The sky should be appreciated and enjoyed because it displays God's glory. It is a deliberate part of His handiwork. Sunsets and sunrises are the most beautiful part of the day and can be a reminder of His creation story. Everything that God created is beautiful.
The sky consist of a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen. That was part of God's creation. All the elements were created by God. He was the first chemist. He created the perfect mixture to make the moisture in the air work to make it breathable. If you were to change it just a little, the air would become deadly toxic.
The sky consist of three heavens: throne of God (our true home), space (stellar), and our blue oxidized sky that holds our atmosphere. Day two is water and air which are the elements of survival. Spiritually it represents Jesus: ever lasting life through him, Salvation is not physical, but spiritual. God's creation is a physical representation of what spiritual salvation can be like for you. One day Jesus will return to earth on the clouds, so there is nothing wrong with looking up with excitement.
