Church on Mission

Church is a group of believers in Jesus.  It is when Christians come together to worship, fellowship, and work together for God's commission.  We are the witnesses that go throughout the world to tell others what is missing in their lives.  We all have a testimony about how mighty and magnificent God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are.
Paul's final missionary story comes to an abrupt end.  It is almost disappointing because you want to know more.  However, it was part of God's design.  His story never ends, so it will never have that happily ever after until we join Him in Heaven.  As long as you are alive and living for Jesus, your story is not over.  You are still a work in progress.
In the Book of acts you see how the church comes together and how we still need it to function to be a functional church.  You see the church assemble and be persecuted for following Jesus.  You see people choose to reject Jesus.  People will always react to Jesus, just maybe not as you expect.  The church shared the gospel and had different roles.
The first church lived in the Gospel.  They had to unlearn a lot of bad habits (tradition and stiff rules) and see life in a new way to follow Jesus.  They learned how to evangelize, witness, and love like Jesus.
The leaders (Apostles) had witnessed Jesus' life, death, and saw him after his resurrection.  They understood the dangers of following him, but never would stop.  They had their priorities aligned with God.  They prayed together and over the church to overcome all the obstacles to see the truth and freedom in following Jesus' Great Commission.
