Seeking Opportunities

When life is hard then look for the opportunities instead of whining.  When the world persecutes you, then use it as an opportunity to tell the world about Jesus.  Don't get stuck in self-pity, apathy, or crushed by bad experiences.  Look to God on how you can use it to bring Him glory.
God is there in every situation.  If you are seeking Him, then you can easily find him.  A lot of people want to still silence anything that proclaims Jesus, but there are some people out there that have genuine interest.  They just need the connection.  Pray for God to show you the opportunities to encounter these people and the wisdom to give them the connection.
Are you ready to talk about "The Way" to anyone at any time?  If the answer is no, then you need to pray, spend time in God's Word, and meditate.  If you don't even know how to start praying, then pray that God show you how to have a real conversation.  It all comes down to how your heart responds to the Holy Spirit's voice.
Once you become a Christian, your life is no longer just about you.  It is about how you can live your life beside Jesus and giving God the glory for all He does in your life.  When you seek opportunities, then they will come.  It doesn't need to be complicated.  Just give your testimony about what God is doing in your life right now.
It is helpful to know your Bible, but that will come in time.  Talk about what you do know and how it applies to your life.  The OT has relevance.  You can't fully understand what is happening in the NT unless you understand the OT.  You learn the laws, prophecies about Jesus, who God is, and why it can't be omitted.
The reality is that not everyone will accept the truth, but you can always try to reach them with the truth.  That way on judgment day they can't accuse you of not trying.  You will not have to answer to God why you were too busy to love that person enough to try to show them the way to salvation.
Telling people about Jesus doesn't guarantee that they will listen, but it frees you from the burden of their damnation.  A closed off heart will never see the truth that salvation is for everyone, but it is everyone's choice to accept it or not.
