Faith in God

When you declare that you are a Christian, there are certain expectations that come along with that title.  You are expected to have a real relationship with God.  You are expected to live out your faith.  You are expected to work your part in God's mission for the church.
To live out your faith in God is to live in confidence.  You believe in the promises that He made, so you expect Him to be there.  You know that He can never go against what He said.  If you are living faithfully, then you know that you are under His protection.
If you trust God, then your faith is strong and real.  You understand that He is working in and through your life.  You live out that trust and it can be seen with the peace you hold within you, confidence, and ability to love.
God talks about faith and love throughout the Bible.  The Old Testament lays out the foundation and supports the New Testament.  It is faith that makes you righteous.  It is your righteousness that makes you favored by God.  It all works together.  You can't be missing one aspect and have the others: faith-righteousness, love, favor, and salvation.  You can't skip salvation and get any of the other aspects of faith.  It is anchored in Jesus and he is the only way to have living faith.
Creation had a purpose.  God spoke and life was created.  He spoke and the foundation to life was created.  His very words hold power.  That is why the Bible is powerful.  The Power of God's Word became human in Jesus.  He is the only way to real redemption.  It was always a part of God's plan.  Faith in God gives you power and purpose, but not the selfish kind.

Proverbs 2:1-8, Matthew 17:14-20, Romans 10:16-21, Ephesians 2:8-10, & Hebrews 11:1-3
