How to Study the Bible

Good Sunday morning.  It is September 1st and I am launching my new Blog.  My first was all about what it was like getting ready to move to a foreign country, being a missionary, the struggles of it all, and what it was like returning home.  This blog is my journey's journeys, books that came from it, and whatever comes next.  I ask that you take the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee to read and let it penetrate your mind for the day.
Do you see the value of God's Word?  If not, then I pray that one day you will.  The purpose of the Bible is to give purpose that directs you and others to a relationship with God.  You will find conversion, instruction, direction, protection of the mind, and prevention through purity.
The Bible shows you how to be saved by grace, be Spirit filled, and gives you a longing to tell others.  This is a process.  You have to learn how to communicate with God first.  It starts with prayer and investigating the Bible.  Challenge yourself to dig deeper.  It takes determination.
Once you read take time throughout the day to meditating or think over what you read and how it can be applied to your life.  There are many interpretations, evaluations, and applications that can be found in books.  It can be good to get a different perspective on the same thing as long as it still proclaims the truth.
