What is a Miracle?

A miracle is an event that involves a powerful action of God to reveal His character and or purpose.  You read about them a lot in the Bible, but do they still happen now?  The answer is yes.  They may not be as dramatic, but our everyday lives have many distractions that were not there in the Biblical times.  Miracles can been seen in surviving an operation, being healed from cancer, and small acts.
Peter was a great apostle that embraced miracles in all forms.  They seemed to follow him because of his faith.  In Lydia, he met a Aeneas who has been a paralytic for eight years.  He told the man that Jesus healed him and to get up.  This miracle turned everyone that saw into believers.
A short time later, a friend, Dorcus died.  Peter went to her and prayed over her body.  He ordered her to get up.  She opened her eyes and sat up.  Then, he helped her get to her feet.  This led many to Jesus.  Peter had this impact because he had been with Jesus.  He saw what Jesus did.  He knew he had been forgiven and it empowered his faith.  With faith we can be part of miracles too. (Acts 9:32-43)

32 "As Peter was traveling from place to place, he also came down to the saints who lived in Lydda. 33 There he found a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had been bedridden for eight years. 34 Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed,” and immediately he got up. 35 So all who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord."  Acts 9:32-35 (CSB)
