Discrimination

The Bible covers all the topics that you can think of including the uncomfortable subjects like discrimination.  The story of Peter and Cornelius reveals that even Christians can find that they have some prejudices.  It show that you can follow Jesus and discover that you discriminate in an area of your life.
Cornelius was a Caesarean.  Peter was a Jew.  They would not naturally have contact because Jew considered Gentile (anyone not a Jew) as unclean.  Cornelius was a leader in the Italian Regiment, but somehow he and his family had come to fear God and prayed regularly.
In a vision, Cornelius met an angel telling him to send for Peter.  When the angel left him, he sent two servants with a devout soldier to get Peter.  While they were coming for him, Peter went into a trance where God prepared him for the visit.  God knew that Peter would never have gotten over his cultural and religious prejudice to do what was best for Christianity without a little help.
In the trance, God revealed that what was once unclean had been made clean.  When it was over, Peter went to meet the three men without any hesitation.  God is bigger than discrimination.  He can break through barriers.  Do you have a open heart that is willing to change in a drastic way? (Acts 10:1-8)

17 "While Peter was deeply perplexed about what the vision he had seen might mean, right away the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions to Simon’s house, stood at the gate. 18 They called out, asking if Simon, who was also named Peter, was lodging there.  19 While Peter was thinking about the vision, the Spirit told him, “Three men are here looking for you. 20 Get up, go downstairs, and go with them with no doubts at all, because I have sent them.”  Acts 10: 17-20 (CSB)
