There are different kinds of laws. There are the laws your parents make, schools, work, state, and federal. Then, there are the laws that God made. We should make all of our laws based upon His, so society would have clear and constant guidelines of expectations.
When it comes to God's laws there are some people that live so strictly by them that they are not living at all. They don't let those around them live in peace. The point of God's law is to enable you to live a Holy life and still live life. God's law is meant to allow you to be able to live in worship and fellowship. Living the law in love enables you to grow in knowledge and understanding to the point that your life displays it as freedom.
The other way is the Pharisee way. It leads only to a hypocritical life because no one can live to those standards. It is where people decide to add to God's laws with how they think society should function. God established all the laws we need. There is no reason to add on more to make it a burden to yourself or other people.
Don't display the law and not live it. If you cant live it, then keep your mouth shut. God cares more about the heart than the acts that we perform. Give your heart over to the Holy Spirit and He will guide you in how to live. He will help you overcome those sins that you can't overcome on your own. Praise God for giving us boundaries so that we can live freely.
