Traveling with Jesus

When Jesus walked on the Earth it was not just His twelve close friends that followed.  There were also other men and faithful women.  These women gave support through their own efforts and money.  Jesus taught them, just like He taught the men.  I just think there are no books written by them because they were not typically educated and men did not like the idea of following women.
Jesus gave us parables to help us to work out our faith.  They help us to understand other people as well as ourselves.  This is required to be able to follow Him, even though He is no longer on Earth walking.  There are hard people, church goers, stagnant Christians, and Evangelical Christians.  God's Word is what holds the secret power to each person's heart.  Jesus is working to reveal those secrets, but Satan is working just as hard to snatch them away.  We have to persevere.
To follow Jesus we have to walk in transparency.  It is not easy.  Some people take advantage and will hurt you, but God is there to heal those wounds.  Listen to Him and do not hold back what He has given you (His light).  This is how you become a part of His family: hear the Word, accept it, and practice it.
There are storms in life, but look at Jesus.  He was not afraid.  He had control over the storms.  You may not understand all there is to the storm, but you know that you are safe'  You know you have control on how you react to the storms.  It may be hard and devastating, but what is destroyed can be rebuilt.  Have a little faith and do not be afraid or give up.

Luke 8: 1-39
