Forgiving the Undeserving

Have you ever been asked to forgive a person that is not sorry?  Or maybe a person that has given you a soul wound?  We have all done things that are unforgivable because we are human.  That does not mean that it does not hurt when it happens to you.
Jesus proves that He is more than just human because He forgave everyone that crucified Him while He was on that cross.  He forgave those who did their best before He came.  He forgave us that had not been born that would chose to follow Him without ever seeing Him in the flesh.  Yet, we do not deserve it.
Jesus forgave those who were too weak to stand firm to keep Him alive.  He knew that was just their role.  His bloody death had to happen to open the door to opportunity of eternity in Heaven.  You can't get through that door without getting His blood on you.  The difference is that His bllod does not stain, it purifies.
He watches.  He still sees how deprived and selfish human nature is.  I cringe to think at times how I have let Him down.  Even now, when I should speak, but stay quiet or need to stay quiet and chose to speak.  No one is perfect, but we can try to do what is best for that relationship and step out of our comfort zone to help people that may be ungrateful for it.  After all, Jesus took time for us and forgave us when we do not deserve it.

Luke 23
