The Way

We tell the story of Jesus like it is some fairy tell on Sunday Mornings.  I get that kids don't understand the content like adults.  However, I think we are setting them up to fail, be disappointed, or reject Jesus.  Jesus is the Way.  It is not a religion.  It is a way of life and this life is not always easy.
We don't need to let our hearts be troubled, but we should evaluate our motives.  What do we think about, spend time doing, reading, listening too, and more?  Are we more in the world or investing into becoming more like Him?  Our lives tell the world if we are following the Way or not.  It is not something you can fake.
When you first come to Jesus, you don't know the way.  You make mistakes as you grow.  The point is to allow His way, truth, and life to change your life in unexpected ways.  As your faith grows, so does your understanding.  There is no short cut or cheat sheet.  It has to become a part of you.  When your heart is aligned with His, you can ask for anything and expect to receive it.
The Way is a way of living love.  The more you show Holy love the more you are living in obedience to His commands.  We have the counselor (Holy Spirit) to help us in every situation.  Just because you can't see Him does not mean that He is not there.  He is the one that shows us Jesus and teaches us through the Word.  He directs our steps in the Way that leads to Heaven and God.
Pray and think about a fast that you are willing to begin today on Ash Wednesday.  The next few weeks are a time to challenge your faith for yourself.  You can challenge yourself to see how well you are following the Way or what needs to change to get back on track.
