Cleansing

People have strong views on how to clean and what is clean, just like what is dirty.  It goes hand in hand.  When people clean it is almost ritualistically.  They normally clean the same way every time.  Some people can let dust sit for a while when others will clean an entire room from top to bottom when they see a speck of dust.  Neither way is right or wrong.  It is just who the person is.
What does God say about cleaning?  For the record: God never said cleanliness is next to Godliness.  That was people trying to get their children in line, but God does like order.  God's desire for cleanliness was for a healthy lifestyle.  People who got sick due to being unclean had to be isolated.  The cleansing was not a pleasant procedure, but if we have things too easily we take them for granted and don't learn from our mistakes.
A cleansing was very ceremonial.  I think from the beginning people have always had certain things that are routine, normal, or just a particular way of doing it.  It brings a bit of normalcy to an uncontrollable world.  This goes for the people who hate routines too.  We all do it without even thinking about it.
If we allowed for the mess to take over, then it would destroy our peace and health.  That is why if a house had mildew in it, then whatever was infected was thrown out or burned.  Mildew destroys, smells, and spreads.  It is serious because it it affects your respiratory and skin health too.  Sometimes people had to tear down their home and restart.
A cleansing can be simple or as complicated as starting over.  Sometimes a cleansing requires atonement which requires digging deep within yourself into things you would rather leave alone.  If you feel like your life is a mess, go to God in prayer.  Ask Him to talk to you and He will personalize it for you.
