The Celebration

Happy 4th of July.  Today we celebrate the independence earned for our nation.  We get to enjoy the hard work that our nation's forefathers invested.  We still do what we have to do to keep it free, but we are recognizing those that risked everything so that we can have what we have today.
However, God started working years, decade, longer so that His people could have freedom.  The first church community celebrated freedom with the Passover.  At the appointed time the community would come together to celebrate in unity.
However, if you were unclean, then you were not allowed to join in.  Today, it does not work that way which is good because between the fireworks, grilling, and outside fun we all tend to get a little dirty on this day.  If a person chose not to celebrate the freedom of the people, then they were cut off.  Seems harsh, but it was all about unity.  It was all about being spiritually clean and prepared for whatever may happen next.
God's house had a part in all celebrations.  God Himself came and join in the form of a fire cloud.  He hovered over His home blessing and enjoying the people having fun.  When ever He would lift up, the people would travel again.  This was routine, not just the one day or the one celebration.  God was a part of their daily lives.
