Giving a Gift before Death

Death doesn't have to be scary.  It can be a time of reflection and giving.  No one has to enter the unknown without a certain level of confidence.  It comes with understanding your relationship with God and that when you go that you can't take anything with you.  It is a gift to be able to wrap up your worldly life in a straight forward manner, so that your loved ones do not need to distress or argue over what is left behind.
Moses did not really have any worldly possession.  He had his relationship with God, so he gave what he had.  He blessed his people as an unified nation.  He blessed them with leadership, fruitful life, strength, covenant teachers to guard God's law, craft skills, security of God's love, righteousness, sound judgment, love, and protection.
Moses went to face death without dread or fear.  He was ready, even if he was probably sad that he never got to enter the promised land.  Nobody gets everything.  He did get to see it though.  I think it gave him closure.  I think Moses left this world talking to God.  I would love to die talking to God with my mouth and my spirit walk away with God still talking like old friends.
Moses was buried in the Valley of Beth, Moab, at the age 120.  He never became feeble.  He never lost his mental senses.  That was truly a blessed life.  He still is blessing us by showing us how we can live a long healthy life too.
The Hebrew nation grieved Moses for 30 days.  Then, they had to start living their lives again.  It had to be that way.  They moved on, but there was never another prophet like Moses.  That is why he became a patriarch for Christianity.  That is his gift to us.  What a way to end.
