Prosperity

 

    What do you think about when you hear the word prosperity?  I imagine a life of easy where a person does not worry or even think about finances.  They have enough that if something happens it is not a source of stress.  Prosperity is a when a person is successful and thriving.  The economic well-being is just kind of a side affect.  It is more of who the person is and how they carry themselves.

    God gives out blessing and cursed.  We get them according to how we chose to live.  Prosperity is a blessing for having a heart that follows Him.  If you stray for a while, but turn back to Him then prosperity can still be a part of your life as He restores you.  The more you love Him the more you will prosper in life, but it not guaranteed that it will always be financially rich.  It can be having a long and healthy life.

    Prosperity is choosing life.  It is keeping God's Word in your heart and mouth, so your focus is on His desire for your life.  Life is prosperity.  Death is the curse.  To be cursed is choosing to live destructively until it takes your life.  It is rejecting what God has given you and choosing yourself over loving others and God.  

    Take prosperity or death out of the situation and it is still better to have a relationship with God.  It is comforting to be able to hear His voice.  Life has meaning when you hold tightly to Him.  A relationship with Him gives a fully prosperous life.
