To Fear God

To fear God is the beginning of wisdom.  It sounds so dreary or ominous, but it is just saying that if you fear God in a healthy way that your priorities will be in line with His.  As you see Him work, then your wisdom begins to grow with understanding and purpose.

Moses had made two tablets to help people visibly see how to fear God in a healthy way.  This fear is not terror or assuming that with any mistake that your whole world will crumble.  This fear is understanding that there are consequences to sin and the desire to avoid it.

Moses' fear was based on love and respect.  That is why he made an ark to be a home for the two stone tablets with God's laws on them.  Then he gave it over to the Levites to be the care takers.  He did his part and taught what he could, but it is the individual's responsibility to take care.

We show God that we fear Him in how we live our lives: lover and service.  We show that it is a healthy fear by giving Him our heart and soul.  We don't have to endure circumcision, but the heart should be circumcised from the past strongholds.  A stubborn heart will keep you away from what you really want in life.
