A Vulnerable Nation

The Israelite nation divided into two nations: Judah and Israel.  This left both nations more vulnerable.  With poor leadership, the people were kind of left to their own security.
King Abijah of Judah did the best he was able to do, but he was nota strong national leader.  Abijah relied on God and God had scared other nations for a while.
When he died, his son Asa became King of Judah.  King Asa was a good king that did right by God.  He had 10 years of peace.  That is really good for a nation not being that strong, but  Asa took advantage of this time and fortified his cities and his small nation thrived.  He sought God in all his choices.
Meanwhile enemies plotted for evil.  King Zerah of Cush was the enemy that made the first move.  His army vastly outnumbered King Asa's, but he discovered that Judah was not as weak as he had thought.  God was with his people giving them strength.  It was God that crushed the Cushite army.  With God the numbers don't matter.
I will state again that war should be the last resort.  None of us should seek a fight.  However, if the fight comes to us and there is no way to find a solution, then we need to be prepared to fight.  You just need to make sure that it is done in the right order.  Seek God's guidance, preparation, prayer for wisdom and action, then take action.
