Resettling

To resettle is to return or to have a renewing of a home or lifestyle.  There have been changes, maybe life alterations, and life is now different.  Your habits and routine have to find a new rhythm.  This can be stressful or welcomed depending on the person.  The point is to find that routine again and make sure God is in the center of it.
When the Jews returned to the promised land, they were returning back to their God given home.  However, none of them had ever been there before because their excile had lasted 70 years. Not everyone wanted to return, but there were still thousands of people that did.
Only about one tenth of the Jews were allowed to live in Jerusalem.  They were to return to their ancestral homes.  That meant many had to move on to another city.  That could have been discouraging for some since many helped rebuild the walls.  There was a sense of community and safety in Jerusalem and they were going into the unknown again.
To move could have been difficult because maybe they lost their support system that they had developed was probably a little scary.  It was a lot of change in a couple of years.  The ones that stayed in the city had lives that were settling.  The people that had to move on had to learn how to resettle again.
They had a good attitude.  The power of the Holy Spirit was working in the hearts of the nation.  They blessed the people that stayed and went into the world to face their own adventures.  Change can be exciting.  It is all about how you choose to look at it.
