Interrogation

An Interrogation is where a person is being questioned in an accusing manner.  It leaves the person feeling guarded and often insulted or hurt.  There is a reason for it in most cases, but it is never a comfortable setting or atmosphere..
Job had listened to accusations from his three friends and responded.  Now Eliphaz is coming back in an interrogative manner.  He began with calling Job an fool.  His interrogation was more of a pointed monologue.
After listening to Job he was convinced that Job's sin was his tongue.  Who was Job to speak to God in such a manner.  Eliphaz had been the somewhat sympathetic friend, but that was over.  He was ready to have it out with his sick friend now.  He was fed up with Job.  He felt like Job was not listening and only condemning himself more.
Eliphaz's speech was definitely accusatory.  He was offended with how Job reacted to the friend's attempt to comfort him, so now he was not holding his tongue.  He told job right out that he was getting what he deserved for being secretively wicked.
This interrogation heated because the men were letting their opinions and hurt feelings dominate the conversation.  On the other hand, personal growth usually comes from some sort of conflict.  Maybe God allowed all this part to be an ugly mess was to help all of them know him better.  This becomes a changing factor in how people viewed God and their relationship with Him.
No one has the right to dominate another person's spiritual life.  That is strictly personal.  We can influence and be part of the growing process, but we never can tell another person how to believe or live out their beliefs unless it is dangerous for them and other people.   We all will have to answer to God one day on how we lived our lives, so focus on your faith and be there for others when they need it or ask for it.  Just don't try to force your faith on them or it is likely to make the person more resistant.

Job 15
