Elihu made his opening speech for the closing argument. Now he was speaking passionately as he sincerely challenged Job. Elihu was a righteous man too, so he felt like he had a right to question Job about a few things. He may have been young, but he followed God's path.
Elihu rebuked Job for claiming purity while receiving God's wrath. It was still unknown that all of Job's impurity came from Satan and none of it was the wrath of God. Since it was unknown, it was not an aspect of the investigation and therefore not in the chain of evidence. We can only work with what we know. Elihu was speaking from the wisdom that he had and from a place of caring about Job.
Elihu challenged Job to open his ears to hear God instead of complaining. If he stopped talking, then maybe God could speak. God is the rescuer of the soul. He saves us from the pit and restores us while alive. We should have gratitude. Job listened to all that Elihu had to say without interjection. He agreed, even in his suffering he got that Elihu was speaking truth and out of brotherly love.
Suffering provides chastening, but we can only learn from suffering if we are willing to listen. Everything Elihu said was true. He was only wrong in why this was happening to Job and why Job wanted an audience with God. Job wanted to ask God what his hidden sin was. He did not want to accuse God of being an unjust god.
