God's Refuge Part 1

Refuge is a place or a feeling of safety from persecution, pursuit, or danger.  We have places that we feel safe in life.  The home and church should be places of refuge.  It is nice if work can be a place of refuge.  We have people that we can rely on, but everyone is flawed.  They will let you down at some point or another while just trying to live their own lives.
God's refuge is different.  It is strong, permanent, and real.  No matter what is going on in your world, He will listen and be there no matter how repetitive your prayers may be.  He can make you feel safe in a dangerous world.  We just need to trust Him.  Use what you learn from Him to build a moral foundation that will be strong and endure life's storms.
God is righteousness.  He brings it with Him as a part of refuge.  He sees everything, good and bad, so we can trust that He will take care of the wickedness of the world.  It probably wont be on our time table, but He can't let evil consume His world.  When it feels like He is not paying attention we have to have faith that He is in the back ground working.
God shows us His love through justice.  His justice can provide joy without shame because His justice is a blessing.  Shame comes from Satan.  God provides healing, so that you can use the forgiven sins, past hurts, and humiliations to build a stronger internal foundation (mental, emotional, and spiritual) and draw closer to Him.

Psalm 11
