Yearn for God

To yearn is an intense longing for something or someone. It usually comes after a separation.  To yearn for God have the intense desire to be near Him, see Him, need to talk with Him. It is more than the everyday love and appreciation for what He has done for you.  It holds urgency that is all consuming.
When the heart yearns for God it is usually when you are living a pure and righteous life. The world may feel like it is coming against you.  This can cause depression.  As a Christian that can be hard to handle when the Christian culture says there is not reason to ever get depressed.
The heart yearning for Him can actually cause the body to hurt.  It is kind of like when your heart is broken, there are physical side affects.  Yearning can be a lot like that.  You desire to be near Him so much that you feel it.
When you yearn for God you stand out in a crowd.  People notice that there is something different about you.  Some people will not like it and will avoid you, dislike you, or be cruel.  Other people though will see it and want to be near you as you radiate joy and thanksgiving from your heart and soul.  It is just important to be transparent and not pretend be or feel what you do not.
When the soul is at an unrest, put your hope into your relationship with God.  He sees your soul.  He knows and understands your yearning. He knows what you lack and ventures to your deep dark places to find you.  He can help you crawl out of your hidden places to be yourself under His protection.  He is the rock, the foundation, the security that we possess in life.   It is natural to yearn to be near Him.
