People ask God for a lot of things. Some are more urgent than other, but we all seem to want something. God is eager to hear from us and wants to help. However, when you pray you have to listen to His response. He may be redirecting your desires even if the urgency is not changing. That is why we have to be alert, so we can change direction in a moments notice.
When you pray, it is okay to ask God to answer quickly. You just need to be prepared to wait patiently if He seems to be taking His time. He is working on something you can't see and it may be better than what you are asking for. Life is short and seems to always be high paced. It can take a lot of work to wait patiently on God.
When you are waiting on God to answer your prayer, try to remember all the things that He has done for you in the past. Remember the benefits of waiting at other times. Have faith that He is listening. Meditate on His Word, especially where He makes His promise. Sit down and do actual meditation to control your breathing. It really is amazing what it does for your entire body, so it is beneficial in several areas. While you meditate and wait you can ask God to remember your need.
Rejoice in your salvation. Exalt God with all your heart because He loves you more than any person or pet ever could. Focus on that love when you wait and see if you can turn your impatience into acts of love. You don't need money or much time to do that. He knows your urgency and why it is urgent. Trust that He is handling the situation, but you can ask Him not to delay.
Psalms 70
