Prayer Over Aging

Aging can be difficult for some people.  It can be hard to look in the mirror and see a different person in front of you.  There are things with aging that you may not be prepared for: hormonal changes, incontrollable weight, loss of coloring, health changes, and more.  It is a part of life, but that does not necessarily mean that you are ready.
The best way to deal with aging is in prayer.  God is a refuge from vanity where you can look at yourself "naked" and find acceptance.  More than that, you may find a new beauty in who you have become.  Some of the changes may feel cruel, but they are mile markers for where you are in life.  Look for the perks.
As you age and your prayer life matures, then you should be able to find a confidence in where you are in life.  The older you get the less you care about how other people see you and judge you.  You discover that you are your own worst critic.  You grow in wisdom and learn how to make the changes that you want to see in your life and the world around you.  Justice takes a new meaning.
God is telling you He made you just the way you are because He things you are beautiful.  Your personality has a purpose and meaning.  You do fit.  Use what He gave you to make a difference in the world around you.  Use the influence you have to make the world a better place while trusting that God will take care of the details.
God never stops teaching you throughout your life.  The changes are to keep you from getting bored and complacent.  Praying through the aging process is to reveal that God never forsook you and the Holy Spirit is revealing what is beautiful about you and in you.
