Restoration is to return something to the former owner, place, or condition. It is getting things back to the way they are supposed to be. It takes a whole lot of work to restore an item, relationship, or status than it does to destroy it. Praying over the situation is essential to know where to begin. It can take real strategic planning and time prioritizing in many cases.
God is mighty and powerful. He can restore anything. He starts with the people. He shines when He restores us by making your mistakes or past sins no longer have the power to destroy you. Living a life of integrity can help remove past transgression from people's memories, but God lets go as soon as you ask. It just takes time with people and probably more time than you desire to see change.
When we mess up there are consequences. Loosing the confidence from other people is just one of those consequences. Another is grieving over the life you destroyed. God sees the heart and restores your relationship with Him immediately, so He can help you bear the burden with the other people. We have to work at the relationships.
When restoring relationships it requires breaking down the walls and being vulnerable. It is not fun nor pleasant, but it is necessary. Sin will lie and tell you that you are right and that you are protected. It silently destroy anything that means something to you. Allow God to open your eyes to the secret lies, so that you can be revived and restored.
