Prayer of Endurance

To endure is to persevere through discomfort.  Endurance is pushing through something unpleasant or through a difficult situation without giving up.  Endurance is not something easily produced.  How well a person does depends on the character and the practice.  It may be easier for some, but it is never easy.  It shows the world around you what matters to you because you will not endure some things for just anything.
Endurance is begins with personality, but it grows through prayer.  God will allow the strongest person to get to the point where they will be broken for them to realize that He has all the power they need to endure.  He takes our weakness and turns it into a strength if we let Him.
When you pray for endurance it comes from a humble heart.  You ask God not to turn His back on you.  Tell Him how much you need Him and why.  Tell Him everything that is bothering or hurting you.  Be completely honest, so if you are angry tell Him.
When you pray for endurance the empty feeling deep inside starts to heal.  You slowly come back to life and more like yourself.  You wait eagerly to hear His voice and because your focus has shifted the taunting of others or the pressure of the circumstance has less impact.  You stop looking at it as persevering and you start living again.
When you have endured, you can look back and realized just what you endured and thank God.  You will find compassion in your heart that was not there before.  It will drive you to pray for people that you may never have considered to pray for before.  The power of persecution and distress is removed and you feel pity for the people that want to hurt you.
Events in life may take your strength, you energy, or your ability to do more than just survive.   If you are facing death, then face it face on with confidence because you know where your security is: faith.  God has the power to change things.  He can give you hope through it all.  He has promised us a home in Heaven if we just choose to endure the Christian life in His.
